What is Mia FemtechTM?
Mia Femtech™ is a revolutionary method in plastic and aesthetic surgery that has been specially developed for scar-free breast augmentation. This technique uses a minimally invasive approach by inserting implants into the breast through a small incision in the armpit. This transaxillary access has the advantage that it does not cut into the breast tissue and thus does not burden it. How does a breast augmentation with Mia® work?

Unlike classic breast augmentation, breast surgery with Mia Femtech™ can be performed on an outpatient basis in twilight sleep, a gentler form of anesthesia that is comfortable and safe for the patient. The procedure itself takes between 30 and 45 minutes. The implant is inserted through a small incision in the armpit with the help of a special insertion aid, without destroying the breast tissue or touching the implant itself. The breast tissue is not completely separated from the chest wall, but gently expanded. This spares nerves, vessels and, above all, ligaments of the breast. This “no-touch technique” minimizes the risk of infection and allows for accelerated healing.
After the operation, the patient can leave our clinic on the same day and return home. She is usually able to return to work after one or two days, as long as the activities are not too physically demanding. Complete healing takes about three weeks, during which intensive physical activities such as sports should be avoided.

What are the risks of this method?
As with any surgery, there may be certain risks associated with breast augmentation with Mia Femtech™. In rare cases, infections or secondary bleeding as well as slipping of the implant can still occur.
Another possible complication is capsular fibrosis, a hardened formation of scar tissue around the implant. However, the risk is extremely low thanks to the special surface of the Motiva® implants and the innovative surgical technique.
