Esthetic Surgery

This includes operations that alter the shape, the indications of which are not determined medically, but exclusively by the patient's wishes. They are also commonly known as "cosmetic operations" and aim to improve the appearance. Aesthetic surgery is not a new invention of the 20th century, but has been known for at least 1400 years and already had significant success in the Middle Ages and early Modern times, but its boom was not experienced until the 19th century.

Today, aesthetic surgery is an integral part of plastic surgery, which traditionally consists of the additional areas of reconstructive surgery, burn surgery and hand surgery. The border between aesthetic and reconstructive surgery is fluent, i.e. without an understanding of one sub-area it is not possible to adequately master the other. The reconstruction / restoration of a nose or breast deformed by an accident or cancer, for example, requires not only the reconstructive abilities of the surgeon but also an extremely high understanding of aesthetics. Only in this way is it possible to restore the form and function of the affected body region. Aesthetic surgery itself is so multi-faceted that there are now countless different surgical techniques and treatment options for every region of the body. In order to offer the highest possible quality and safety, it is important to us that our surgeons specialize in aesthetic surgery on the basis of a broad surgical training. Only in this way is it possible to perform surgical procedures several times a week on a regular basis and thus to obtain proven expertise in the respective field. For each surgical area at the clinic utoquai there is a medical division head who knows and treats the corresponding body region. Our specialists for plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery have been trained according to the strict criteria of the Swiss Society for Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (SGPRAC) and have each been certified as full members. In addition to the experience, quality and safety of our patients, privacy, which you will experience with us on approx. 1250m², is particularly important to us.
