Hair transplant
While the various treatments for hair loss are primarily based on stimulation of blood circulation and regeneration of the existing hair follicles, hair transplantation can cover bald spots or thinning hair again, even if the hair follicles have already atrophied.
Hair transplantation leads to long-lasting success and can remedy the suffering of many. The underlying microsurgical technique has improved significantly in recent years, so that nowadays a very natural result can be achieved if performed correctly. To achieve this, it is important to correctly reconstruct the original hairline in the forehead area.
The aim of the treatment is to find the best aesthetic solution for you, respecting your age, gender and the number of hairs still present. Before the procedure, it is clarified whether other underlying diseases need to be treated first and whether further supportive measures such as PRP or nutritional supplementation are useful. Last but not least, the donor area should be sufficient to achieve the desired result. Approximately 2500 units (grafts) are transplanted per session in our clinic. If necessary, several sessions can be performed on consecutive days. An important condition for successful treatment is that the hair loss is controlled.

Surgery
Local anesthesia in the donor area is necessary for hair transplantation. Thus, the actual treatment is completely painless. Depending on the area to be treated and the number of grafts needed, the treatment takes between 4-6 hours. The areas to be treated are first shaved. With the FUE method, there are no visible scars, unlike the previous FUT method, where a strip of skin was removed and the skin was sutured. The individual follicular units are inserted via special microsurgical instruments. With correct placement and orientation, a very natural result can be achieved.
After-effects
Because it is your own tissue, it is one of the safest and best tolerated procedures. The transplanted follicular units adhere to the scalp immediately after implantation, which saves the patient from major dressings (except in the donor area). The body forms crusts, which detach after 5-7 days. During this time, the hair should be regularly moisturized (with a spray) and gently washed only with a special shampoo. Often the transplanted hair falls out after the procedure (shock hair loss). However, after the healing phase is completed, the hair follicles begin to produce new, healthy hair. The final result is achieved after about 1 year.
Aftercare
Directly after the hair transplantation you will receive the exact care instructions for the days after the operation. After about 2 weeks the traces of the transplantation will have disappeared and you will see the first hair growing back. You will see the full result after about 1 year.
Costs
In most cases the costs are not covered by the health insurance, in special cases (scars, accidents) a prior clarification may be advisable. The price depends on the number of transplanted units. All costs incurred will of course be discussed and agreed upon in advance.
