Rigenera – Nanofat

Genetic hair loss, also known as androgenetic alopecia, is the most common cause of hair thinning.

In most cases, men are affected, but women also suffer from this type of hair loss, which is caused by an increased sensitivity of the hair follicles to male growth hormones. These androgenic hormones act on the hair follicles and cause the hair roots to shrink, thus shortening the growth phase and the hair becomes increasingly thinner and shorter. In men, this manifests in the form of receding hairlines and thinning areas at the back of the head. In women, it is mainly the crown area that is affected. With the Rigenera treatment, existing hair follicles are removed from hair-rich regions (usually from the back of the head or behind the ear). The cells contained therein – nota bene the body’s own – are used to stimulate the hair follicles in the affected areas to grow new hair. For this purpose, small tissue samples are taken and specially prepared so that they can be injected into areas with thinning hair. It is thus a so-called autologous tissue transplantation. The procedure stops further hair loss in the affected areas with long-lasting effect and also replenishes them. As an alternative, fatty tissue can also be used, in which case it is removed via a small stab incision and, after special preparation (Nanofat), is injected in a similar way to Rigenera. Both procedures are based on activating stem cell-like cells.

Procedure

The procedure is performed on an outpatient basis under local anesthesia. In a first step, we take three to four skin samples of 2.5 millimeters each from the scalp from areas where there is strong hair growth. This tissue is broken up in a special microdermatome (sharp microblade), the cells separated and prepared into a suspension. The obtained active substance is injected by means of small injections into the areas of the scalp to be treated. The extraction sites heal by themselves, no suturing is necessary.

The treatment takes approximately 45 to 60 minutes, depending on the severity of the alopecia and the patient’s wishes regarding hair growth. In total, only one session is necessary, which can be refreshed every 12 months as needed. The treatment is often combined with PRP and mesotherapy.

After-effects

We use only the body’s own material in this method. Therefore, and due to the adherence to the strictest hygiene regulations in our clinic, the risk of side effects is virtually eliminated.

Aftercare

There are no special requirements for aftercare. The sites where the skin samples were taken heal within a short time and do not require stitches. At the latest on the day following the treatment, you can wash your hair again. Visible results can be seen after one month at the earliest. For a lasting effect, the treatment can be repeated after two to three years.

Costs

The costs for the application of the Rigenera method can vary greatly in some cases and depend on the size of the treatment area or the degree of receded growth and the combination treatments chosen. To give you maximum planning security, we discuss the costs in advance. Most health insurance companies do not cover the cost of Rigenera, as the procedure is considered purely aesthetic.
