Breasts that are too large can be a real strain—both physically and emotionally. Many women suffer from neck and back pain, poor posture, or skin irritation in the crease under the breasts. This is often accompanied by feelings of shame or insecurity, for example when playing sports or wearing figure-hugging clothing.
Breast reduction surgery can harmonize this imbalance. The goal is to achieve lighter breasts that are in proportion to your body – for greater freedom of movement, less discomfort, and a new sense of self-esteem.
A professionally performed breast reduction can significantly improve your physical well-being — and enhance your quality of life in the long term.

During an initial consultation, you can discuss your wishes and expectations for the outcome with us in confidence. We will determine the best possible treatment option for you and inform you about the exact procedure. This also includes the necessary incisions and scarring.
We recommend that you stop taking blood-thinning medication approximately two weeks before the procedure. We will explain in detail how you can best prepare for the operation.
Die Brustverkleinerung erfolgt auf ambulanter Basis unter einer leichten Vollnarkose. Der Eingriff dauert 2–2,5 Stunden.
Depending on the initial situation, the incision is either purely vertical (scar-saving, I-incision) or, in cases of significant excess skin, T-shaped. We remove excess breast and glandular tissue and reposition the nipple. The glandular tissue is sculpted and tightened for an aesthetic, long-lasting result.
You will be given a support bra, which you should wear continuously for the next 6 weeks. This will provide the best possible support during the healing phase and relieve pressure on the breast. If necessary, arrange for help with household chores, as you should avoid heavy lifting and housework for the time being. Also, do not raise your arms above shoulder height, as this movement puts strain on the sutures.
Most of our patients are able to return to work after 1–2 weeks, depending on their occupation. Light office work can be resumed more quickly than physically demanding work.
You should refrain from sports for at least 6 weeks. Arm movements in particular should only be performed carefully and slowly.
As with any cosmetic procedure, the cost of breast reduction varies depending on the condition of the skin, the deformity, and the amount of tissue to be removed. Whether the position and size of the nipple also need to be corrected is also a decisive factor.
Prices for breast reduction generally start at CHF 14,000. We will draw up a personalized cost plan during a personal consultation so that you have a precise overview.
In some cases, the costs may be covered by health insurance. This may be the case if certain medical criteria are met. These include, for example, diagnosed chronic neck and back pain, a normal body weight, and if 500 grams of breast tissue can be removed from each side.
Are the results permanent?
Yes. If you maintain a stable weight and healthy lifestyle, the results of your breast reduction will be long-lasting.
What scars will remain?
The scarring depends on the individual surgical procedure. We use techniques that minimize scarring as much as possible.
Is the procedure painful?
You will not feel anything during the surgery. Afterwards, there is usually only mild pain, which can be easily treated with medication.
When can I return to work or exercise?
Light activities are usually possible after about 1–2 weeks. You should wait at least 6 weeks before resuming exercise.
What does aftercare involve?
You should wear a special support bra for the next 6 weeks. Gentle movements are also crucial for healing.
