Gluteal augmentation with implants

Similar to a breast augmentation or reconstruction, implants can be used to enhance the buttocks.

With the implant, the shape and projection of the buttock is improved, and lax skin can be tightened to some extent and provide a firmer touch to the butt, which is more difficult to obtain with fat grafting. To this end, the implant is inserted under the muscle  fascia or muscle via a small incision in the butt crease (intergluteal fold).

Gluteal augmentation with implants is performed on an outpatient basis under a light general anesthesia. The incision is placed in the intergluteal fold (butt crease) where it is hardly visible. Through a small incision, the implant is place in the so-called “no-touch” technique in the previously prepared implant pocket. The size of the implant depends on your individual anatomy and your wishes and expectations. The use of an implant leads to a firm touch without the implant being visible or palpable. The day of the surgery, it is possible to sit comfortably on a chair without any problems. The procedure can be combined with a butt lift, i.e. resection of extra skin and with liposuction and fat grafting.

Some feeling of numbness usually disappears within 6-8 weeks after the procedure. In rare cases, early complications such as hematoma, seroma formation and infection may occur. These require immediate action to prevent any negative influence on the final result.

Normal activities can be started after 14-21 days after the procedure. Taking a shower is possible after the first day. Intensive work out and sports can be started again after 4-6 weeks. For the first 4-6 weeks a compression garment is recommended to maintain the position of the implant and favor healing.

As with any cosmetic procedure, costs for a gluteal augmentation with implants can vary widely and depend on the extend of the planned procedure, the skin quality, age and so forth. Our fees are based on the exact type and extent of the surgical procedure planned.

The fees are preoperatively discussed and agreed with you and can be considered as a flat rate including the surgeons and anesthesia fees, the operation room cost, compression garments and the follow-up consultations. The fees are due before surgery.

In general, most health insurances do not cover cosmetic surgery and gluteal augmentation.
