Tightening of the breast, or breast lift, also known as mastopexy, can rejuvenate your figure with a breast profile that is more youthful and uplifted.
A woman’s breasts often change over time, losing their youthful shape and firmness. These changes and loss of skin elasticity can result from pregnancy, breastfeeding, weight fluctuations, ageing, gravity and even as a result of hereditary genes. A breast lift raises the breasts by removing excess skin and tightening the surrounding tissue to reshape and support the new breast contour. In some cases an additional insertion of implants or an injection of fat is required in order to achieve an additional increase of breast size (augmentation mastopexy).

Mastopexy is performed on an outpatient basis under a light general anesthesia. As an outpatient, you may return home on the same day of the procedure. Depending on the breast size, whether a vertical (scar sparing) incision is made, to avoid the horizontal scar in the sub mammary fold or in cases of vast skin excess an inverted T-shaped incision is performed. In this regard the nipple is realigned, which is associated a minimal circular scar at the edge of the nipple. During a breast lift (mastopexy) procedure, mainly sections of skin rather than the glandular body itself are removed, the gland however is often newly shaped and shifted by special surgical techniques in order to achieve a long lasting result.
Incidents and complications are extremely rare in mammoplasty procedures. However, on occasion within the first days after surgery, a patient could experience infection or hemorrhage. Later in the course irritated scars and abnormal sensation in the area of the nipple can occur, which usually fade without additional treatment. In very rare cases a later correction of widened scars may be required.
The breasts are supported with a tight-fitting bra for several weeks following your procedure. However, you may return to work and resume normal daily activities between 10 – 14 days following surgery and resume more sporting and more stressful activities again between 4 – 6 weeks following surgery dependent upon the nature of the activity.
As with any cosmetic procedure, breast lifting surgery costs can vary widely dependent upon the type and extent of the procedure. Our fees are also based on duration of the surgery. All surgical fees are discussed, agreed and paid in advance. They include anesthesia, operating room facilities or other related expenses. In general, most health insurances do not cover breast lifting surgery as the procedure is viewed as being aesthetic in nature.
