Laser hair removal

clinic utoquai hair removal Zurich

Many people want beautiful and full hair – on the head. On the rest of the body, on the other hand, hairs are often undesirable and are perceived as annoying and unaesthetic.

Particularly pronounced hair growth can even be a heavy burden for those affected. Shaving, epilating and waxing the hairy regions may provide a short-term solution, but it is time-consuming and must be repeated regularly. With laser treatment, we at clinic utoquai can remove troublesome hair on the arms, legs, chest, back, under the armpits or in the bikini line – with lasting results.

Procedure

Laser hair removal is performed in our clinic as an outpatient and painless procedure. Using the most modern technology, we guide the laser applicator over the skin to be depilated. The device emits light pulses that penetrate to the hair root without damaging the tissue. The laser energy destroys the root as well as the hair follicle, so that no new growth is possible. Depending on the size of the area and skin type, the duration of a treatment varies, as does the number of sessions required to achieve permanent hair removal.

Permanent hair removal is successful only when applied to dark hair. For the removal of blond, gray or white hair, it is necessary to resort to classic methods such as shaving. Furthermore, we do not perform any treatment on tanned skin. Due to the increased melanin content, burns may occur as a result of laser irradiation.

After-effects

When treated by an experienced dermatologist, this method is almost completely risk-free; pain is hardly noticeable as a result of laser treatment. Slight redness and swelling may occur. However, they have no negative influence on the final result and should disappear after a few days.

Aftercare

There is no downtime as a result of the treatment; patients can leave the clinic immediately after the procedure and go about their daily activities. Any burning sensation can be easily controlled with local cooling. Direct sunlight in the treated area should be avoided for at least two weeks to prevent pigmentation disorders of the skin. We also recommend the use of UV protection with a high sun protection factor (50+).

Costs

The cost of laser hair removal depends on the location of the treatment area, its size and the number of sessions required. We will be happy to present you with an offer tailored to your individual needs in a personal consultation.
As a rule, the costs are not covered by health insurance, since permanent hair removal is a purely aesthetic procedure without medical necessity.
