Precautions
Refrain from taking blood-thinning medication for 2 weeks prior to treatment. You should also avoid alcohol and nicotine. Please come to your treatment appointment without makeup.
Treatment
Botulinum toxin treatment is performed on an outpatient basis and takes about 15 minutes. The procedure is considered painless; if desired, we can apply an anesthetic cream beforehand.
The active ingredient is injected into the relevant muscle using a very fine needle, which inhibits the transmission of stimuli from the nerve cells to the muscle. The muscle relaxes. The number of injections required and the location of the injection sites depend on the pattern of the wrinkles and the strength of the respective muscle activity.
Aftercare
You can resume your daily activities immediately after the treatment. You should refrain from massaging the treated areas and from intensive exercise for the first 24 hours.
